James Harden Has Officially Been Traded To The Clippers

It’s official: James Harden has officially been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.

After months of back-and-forth, this move became inevitable, as the Clippers were the only team interested in acquiring Harden on the market.  The writing was on the wall.

The Clippers have sent Robert Covington, Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, and KJ Martin in addition to two second-round picks, a first-round swap, and a first-round pick from OKC. Good value in a trade for someone who refused to play for you this year. Adding depth to the roster, especially with Tyrese Maxey’s recent Eastern Conference Player of the Week performance.

The Sixers sent PJ Tucker and Flip Petrusev as well in the trade. The value of the Clippers could possibly be questioned, but how do you question Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden? PJ Tucker, who is close friends with Harden, has struggled at the start of the season. Maybe the weather will change that.

Now that he’s in Los Angeles, one can’t help but wonder how long it will take for James Harden to fall in love with the city, given that it’s his hometown. How could he not love it? The Clippers have looked dominant so far this year, so if Harden can come in there and be as effective as he has been, becoming the third-best player on the team, his presence will add significant value to the squad.

Before you ask, Philly plays the Clippers in Philly on March 27th. We’ll be tuned in!
